COVID-19 Safety Plan
Dr. Bryan Friedmann has published the COVID-19 Safety Plan for his Optometric Clinic. It is in accordance with the guidelines set out by the College of Optometrists, BC’s Public Health Officers, BC’s Centre for Disease Control and WorkSafeBC. It’s effective date is May 19, 2020.
In forming it, we have:
1. Assessed the risk of spreading COVID-19 in our clinic by understanding how the virus spreads and the person-to-person transmission of the virus.
2. Implemented comprehensive protocols that take into account the four levels of protection – Elimination, Engineered Spaces, Establishing Rules and Guidelines, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
3. Developed policies for checking in, screening, staff health, and clinic closures.
Each patient will be asked to complete an online Check-In Package through Signority, a secure document signing portal. In it, patients will be asked to sign that they understand this COVID-19 Safety Plan.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we all act together to keep our community protected from COVID-19. How we manage the spread of this virus is truly in our hands “…and we must keep washing them.” (Dr. Bonnie Henry, May 2020)
